Go Away Bad Mood:
"This is another super super positive lovely story. To be on your guard when the "bad mood" starts to invade your space! All you have to do is to recognize it and send it away! Nayera has a gentle and fun way of turning "bad" to "good!"" Tip Boonperm

"My grandchildren love the illustrations and the story. The puzzle in the back is their favorite part. They would not let me borrow the book to take to my other two grandchildren, because they did not want to part with the comfort of the character on the cover, and wanted me to read it again next time, they promised. It was past their bed time." Carol Anne Wien - Grandmother

"My daughter attended a reading of Go Away Bad Mood by Nayera Salam at her daycare. At three years old, my daughter loved the characters and the beautiful illustrations. The playful repetition throughout the book made it easy for the children to engage in the storytelling from beginning to end. As a parent, I love the message the book has to offer. Learning how to recognize and manage emotions is an essential part of growing up and this book offers an opportunity to explore this concept." Miriam Gomes - Mother

"Speaking from both the perspective of a parent of a three year old and an educational psychologist, I love this book! This is such a creative and fun way to introduce feelings. The character, Bad Mood, is very engaging and the ending when he becomes Good Mood is quite uplifting and is always exciting for my daughter. Now whenever she begins to get in a "bad mood," we can both laughingly tell her bad mood to go away and never ever come back! The puzzle must be mentioned as it is an added bonus. I highly recommend this book to any parent to help their child understand and manage challenging feelings in a lighthearted way that will fuel several future references and discussions. I am looking forward to the next book!"
Dena McManis, PsyD

"Go Away Bad Mood is a delightful book that appeals to children on many levels in my classroom.  The storyline is simple,  and easy for all  children to understand.  They quickly see how important it is to send Bad Mood away.  But then when he is all alone they find themselves sympathetic.  So when Fairy Felicia, Queen of Happiness, Laughter and Smiles changes him into Good Mood, the children cheered! Everyone can change his bad mood and make new friends.  The children’s spirits soared by the end of the book.  I love the puzzle on the back cover.  It’s a wonderful addition to an uplifting story.  Thank you for sharing it with my class." Jayne Euwer, M.Ed. National Board Certification, Kindergarten Teacher, Crestline Elementary School

"The book sends a strong message that we are in control of our own emotions. We have a choice in whether to allow others to impact us negatively. With the power of positive thinking, we keep our positive mood, which will also lead to positive behavior." Dr. Enas El Shiwick, PsyD, LMFT Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

“…a little treasure! This delightful little book sends Bad Mood scurrying away time after time with wise words until he is finally replaced with Good Mood. There is a very important message here for children and adults as well. You will read it again and again.” Sandy Smith, Grandmother

"I absolutely loved it! I loved the story telling aspect, and the characters were all so colorful, relatable...you really brought them all to life! Great message for kids of all ages. Kids and adults alike." Renna, Mother

"I like the way it can be enjoyed by younger children but even [older] ages can enjoy the wonderful whimsical characters...I believe children LOVE the repetition of words in story telling making a greater impact in the moral of the story! The story is fabulous by teaching us a lesson on how NOT to let small things ruin our day and to learn how to let negativity get replaced by positive and happy thoughts." Hala Brown, Mother

“The message and struggles that are presented in Go Away Bad Mood by Nayera Salam are positive and up lifting. It is an amusing story that will help kids and adults understand more about emotional literacy and leave us all feeling happy at the end.” Patricia M. Cruz, M.A., L.M.F.T Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Go Away Bad Mood is just as relatable to adults as children. Every body loves good endings especially transformation that turns bad to good. Loved it. I did give one to an adult!" Sharon

"A Cat and Mouse Pact is the perfect story to read to my grandchildren because it has a sweet way of getting the lesson across to the kids. The rhymes and repetition make it fun to listen to and the pictures make it fun to flip the pages.Such an important lesson of being able to be friends despite differences and the best way to get a point across is by being nice! Thanks for helping us make lots of happy book-reading memories together." Grandma Nina

"Common to all of Nayera Salam's children's books, A Cat and a Mouse Pact provides wonderful examples of kindness, gratitude, and friendship and highlights the importance of honoring a promise. Woodland Fairies
"As a mother of three and a grandmother of six, I enjoyed reading "Woodland Fairies" to the children.  They loved the book, and we all like thinking about fairies.  You never know what those little people are going to do next!!!" Panna Ansley, Mother

"I just finished reading Nayera Salam’s new children book “Woodland Fairies” and it definitely is one of the best children books I’ve ever read! What a WONDERFUL book! Its free rhyming prose flows naturally, just like poetry, subtly instilling in children the love of meanings and words, which will linger long after the reading is over. The story, the fairies, the inspiring characters names transport the reader, adult or child, to a whimsical world of imagination and innocence where every tree, every leaf, every animal in nature becomes a vibrant living creature with a heart and a narrative of its own.  The Fairy Friends that greet little Linh on her birthday take her on a celebration of Life and Love in all their forms, playing hide and seek with butterflies, finding and returning lost baby birds to their parents, healing sickness and age, sharing a delicious picnic with Velvet Ears and drinking from acorn shell cups, among many others! The illustration is just as whimsical as the story! A truly inspiring and invigorating book.....like all of Nayera’s children's books!" Hala Agha, Mother

Friends of a Different Kind
"Our son David loves your new book “Friends of a Different Kind” as it reminded him that at school he has friends of all colors and nationalities! He likes animals and especially dogs. He enjoyed the way you had dogs see and become friends with other animal groups. Lastly he loved the games and puzzles at the end." Juliana and David Montaña"Friends of a Different Kind is an introduction for children to diversity. The book invites children to make friends with people that look like them and ones that do not. Having a diverse group of friends broadens a child’s perspective on the world." Book reviewer Khadijah AbdulHaqq

Loudmouth Line & Decent Dot
"Salam’s sweet story of Dot, Line, and the friends in Legendary Land of Pages sparks young readers’ imagination with gender, race, and ethnicity-neutral characters, allowing everyone to identify. She reminds her readers that being boastful is bad and being unkind to one actually hurts all. Readers see that in the face of adversity, there is power in numbers. It’s ok to apologize. There is purpose to forgiveness, and even the little can be mighty, especially when they stick together." Dr. Nina Agrama, retired professor, Western Connecticut State University
